Citrus College Men’s Basketball Player Donte Archie Commits To Lewis-Clark

Archie is the seventh player to accept a four-year scholarship from the Owls championship runners-up team this year.

Citrus College Sophomore Donte Archie became the seventh and final Fighting Owl from the 2010-2011 Citrus College Men’s Basketball team to sign a scholarship offer. Archie committed to Lewis-Clark State College of the NAIA, and will join former Fighting Owl Darin Stewart with the Warriors.

“I felt like this was a great opportunity with a new coach and some great facilities,” Archie said. “It felt like the best situation for me.”

Archie appeared in 31 games with 10 starts for Citrus last season, helping propel the Fighting Owls to the State Championship game. He averaged 8.9 points per game and was the team second-leading rebounder at 4.8 rebounds per contest.

“Citrus made me become a better person on and off the court,” Archie said. “It made me see how hard you have to work in order to be successful.”

"We are very proud of Donte," said Citrus College Head Men's Basketball Coach Chris Victor. “He had an excellent season and Lewis-Clark is getting a great and complete player."

In the past six years no Men’s Basketball program in California has had more athletes move on to four-year universities than Citrus College. In that span, Citrus has moved on a total of 42 student-athletes to play at four-year universities, including 100% of their sophomores over the last four seasons.
