City To Offer Second Business Workshop

The City of Glendora will be hosting its second business workshop on Friday, August 9.

The topic of the workshop will be “Developing a Business Plan.”

Business workshops are a component of the City’s Economic Action Plan, which focuses on business attraction, retention, and business expansion.

Earlier this year, the City held its first workshop on Marketing Strategies; Social Media. The workshop was well attended and well- reviewed. Through its second workshop, the City is encouraging the growth of existing businesses as well as acting as a catalyst to those planning to start a new business.

The Business Plan workshop will be presented by Tom Buckles, Associate Professor at Azusa Pacific University. Buckles has years of experience in teaching both students and executives in the areas of marketing strategy, entrepreneurship and the MBA capstone course.

Buckles has conducted research and published numerous articles in the areas of marketing, e-commerce, and service quality. Buckles has also received awards for his research, as well as his teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and executive levels.

This workshop will cover the specifics of business planning, including marketing and management and provide tools and steps for creating an effective business plan.

This workshop will be held in the Bidwell Forum of the Glendora Public Library, 140 S. Glendora Ave., from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The workshop is free to attend, but registration is required.
