The Community Services Commission will discuss and vote on a recommendation that would honor a long-time Glendora resident who died last year.
The permanent plaque would honor Mark Ryan, who died in May 2012 at age 64. The Glendora Historical Society would like to place the Pride Marker at Finkbiner Park near the Larry R. Glenn Bandshell, according to city documents.
Nicknamed "Mark of the Park," Ryan was known in Glendora for his friendly nature, riding around town on his bike, visiting local businesses and becoming friends with every person he met.
Glendora resident Zak Bushey initiated a petition to erect a memorial for Ryan in August 2012, with the Glendora Historical Society spearheading the effort.
The Commission's recommendation would be sent to the Glendora City Council for a vote.
