District Recognizes Four Stellar Student Athletes

Students honored as Baseline League Outstanding Seniors.

There just couldn't be one Patch Athlete of the Week. The Glendora Unified School Board honored four Glendora High School seniors, Monday night, for their achievements in the classroom and as athletes.


Brea Cook
Cook has a 4.17 GPA. She is on the all CIF water polo second team and has been a member of the Baseline League water polo first team three separate occasions. She participates in the USA Olympic development water polo regional team and was selected as the water polo team's most valuable player three separate times.

Jed Hall
Hall is persevering despite being diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. Hall has a 4.07 GPA. He has spent two years on the yearbook and photography staff. He has competed four years in wrestling and water polo. He's an AP scholar, currently enrolled in three AP courses. Hall will be going on a two-year mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints next year.

Christian Schneider
Schneider has a 3.85 GPA. He was selected not only to first team all-San Gabriel in football, but also first team all-Baseline League. He's a three-year letterman for varsity football and varsity basketball. He's captain of both the football and basketball teams. He's a three-year scholar athlete and was selected second team all-Baseline League in his sophomore and junior years.

Raeline Valbuena
Valbuena has a 4.52 GPA and is enrolled in four AP courses. She took her team to the CIF second round in tennis in 2012 and in soccer in 2010. She earned her varsity letter as a scholar athlete for the past four years. She's a national Barrett scholar. She's participated in the jazz band, the wind ensemble and the chamber orchestra. She's been a league finalist in tennis, track and field 2012 and 2013. She's a member of the national honor society in the California Scholarship Federation.
