Friday Night Concert at Strings Music

"Uncle Roddy" Ali'i Kaulana Gregory performs a free concert of ukelele and Hawaiian music. E komo mai (welcome) to the Ohana (family) to experience the Aloha Spirit and taste of the Islands. We invite you to enjoy the friendly aloha, music, dance, and the local spirit of paradise. Be part of the Ohana to perpetuate the Hawaiian culture.

Uncle Roddy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.  He spent the major part of his young life in Aala Park until age 5, Kalihi until the age of 11, and the latter and most influential part of his life until adulthood in Palolo Valley. He moved to Los Angeles, California in December 1973 after serving in the US Navy and in Viet Nam.

Uncle Roddy teaches ukelele classes at Strings Music in the Glendora Village, and is very involved in the Hawaiian/Polynesian community.

He is the founder and coordinator of the San Dimas Ho’olaule’a in Southern California, one of the top Hawaiian performers in California with his band O’ahu and several halaus. He supports and promotes Polynesian festivals, events, activities, vendors and entertainers; offers oncerts, entertainment, and luaus; and supports Hawaiian/Polynesian organizations.
