Friday Night Concerts at Strings Music

The Rio Fiumara Quartet will perform jazz and Latin music at Strings Music in Glendora for a free concert Friday,  June 24, 6-8 p.m.  

Rio Fiumara started playing saxophone at age 9 and was playing
professionally at 14. His early jazz influences were Paul Desmond,
Stan Getz, Cannnonball Adderly and Phil Woods. After many years of playing "all kinds" of gigs he spent nine years with Arlene and the Guys Big Band (originally Big Band Staff).

He also played with Doc Anello's Swing Machine at Disneyland and was a member of the Jimmy Dorsey Band that traveled to Thailand at the invitation of the King to play the 2000 Millennium celebration in Bangkok.
