Glendora HS Rises In National, State Rankings

The high school's academic achievements show bigger improvements from a year ago.

The Washington Post recently released its "America's Most Challenging Schools" list and Glendora maintains a strong presence at the state and national levels.

Nationally, Glendora ranks No. 878, an improvement of 99 points. At the state level, Glendora ranks 108, an increase of 21 points, officials said. The list gives details on 1,900 high schools across the country.

According to the Washington post, Glendora High School posts a four-year graduation rate of 98.7 percent, with an average ACT score of 23.8, an average SAT score of 1,581 and an enrollment of 2,400 students. About 43.4 percent of students go on to four-year colleges.

The index score given is derived from the number of college-level tests given for the year 2012, divided by the number of graduates for that year.
