Thanks to the dedication of 55 community members, the Library has a new five-year strategic plan. The Glendora Public Library Strategic Plan 2013-2018, was adopted by the Library Board of Trustees at their July 15, 2013, meeting and by the City Council at their August 13, 2013, meeting.
Back in March of this year, two visioning sessions were held and facilitated by Library Consultant and Futurist Joan Frye Williams. 55 people, including 8 teens, came together for one evening to discuss Glendora, its future, and how their Library can help create that future. It was an amazing night with valuable insights shared by this dedicated group of Glendorans. The following day, a similar visioning session was held with Library staff. We took this input and created a new strategic plan for the Library.
The Glendora Public Library Strategic Plan 2013-2018 includes vision statements for four key areas: service, technology, partnerships and value. Five-year initiatives are listed under each key area. An annual work plan will establish objectives to address the initiatives. The current document includes a work plan for 2013-2014; the service assessment highlights; visioning workshops highlights; and a list of the community members that participated in the workshops.
