Glendora Unified Receives $450,000 Donation
The FGUS donation will cover a variety of programs in each of the district's schools.

The Foundation for Glendora Unified Schools turned in another sizeable donation to Glendora Unified schools this year.
On Oct. 8 during the districtās school board meeting, FGUS presented a check to the district for $450,000. The funds were raised by FGUS in 2011 for the 2012 school year.
The funds have been allocated to the elementary schoolsā music program, AVID and GATE in the middle schools and high school, college preparatory program Naviance, and ConnectEd, a parent communication program.

FGUS also aimed to make a contribution to each school in the district for each siteās needs. About 10 percent of the total donation was allocated to this goal.
āThe generosity of our parents, local businesses, and community members has made this possible,ā said FGUS president Mike Beckman.Ā āWith their continued involvement, we are looking forward to reaching our objective of raising $475,000 for our schools this year.ā
