Grammy Nominees Dailey and Vincent to Perform at Citrus College
Nominees for Best Country Performance by a Duo take the HPAC stage the day before the Grammys in LA.

It’s not every day that you can see a performance by a Grammy nominee the day before the ceremonies, this year taking place at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 13.
Local audiences will be able to do just that at the concert by 2011 Grammy nominees Dailey and Vincent on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 8 p.m. at Haugh Performing Arts Center at Citrus College, 1000 W. Foothill Blvd., Glendora.
Dailey and Vincent have been nominated for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, for the song “Elizabeth” from their album Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers on Cracker Barrel/Rounder Records.

Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent became the most heralded new act in bluegrass when their debut album Dailey & Vincent (2008) and busy tour schedule introduced them to audiences. The group took home seven awards at the 2008 International Bluegrass Music Awards Show, including Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year, and they haven’t stopped raking in the awards since.
Last Monday, the duo brought home seven trophies from the 37th Annual Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBMA) Bluegrass Music Awards in Nashville, including Bluegrass Band of the Year, Entertaining Group of the Year, and Album of the Year (for Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers). They also won their third consecutive awards for Vocal Group of the Year and Gospel Group of the Year/Contemporary.

"Elizabeth" holds a particular place in Dailey's heart.
"We loved cutting that song. I’ve been singing that since I was 9 years old," Dailey explained. "The Statler Brothers were my childhood heroes. They’re the reason I wanted to sing the higher ranges."
"We’re very humbled to be in the final five," Vincent said, about fellow category nominees Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band, The SteelDrivers and Little Big Town. "I can’t explain the joy and excitement we have and particularly for Rounder Records and Cracker Barrel and everyone behind us for making this possible."
Both are not strangers to the Grammy experience.
As a member of Doyle Lawson’s Quicksilver, Dailey earned four Grammy nominations, and was a guest artist on Ricky Skaggs' Grammy-winning Brand New Strings album. As a member of Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder for the past 10 years, Vincent won five Grammy Awards, and also played on Grammy-winning albums by Dolly Parton and Jimmy Sturr.
Don’t think that Dailey and Vincent will be performing only bluegrass music in the all-acoustic show Saturday night. Theirs is an all-encompassing survey of Southern music – bluegrass, country, gospel, even some folk – with a healthy dose of comedy.
"If the audience is into what’s we're doing, we build on that and will expand our regular 90-minute show into 2 hours," said Vincent.
"Our music is something for your youngest child to your grandma to enjoy," he said, and added jokingly, “And it’s environmentally friendly, because bluegrass is 'green.'"
"Our audiences have stayed with us all the way, and we could not have done this (their award-winning ways) without them," said Dailey. "We strive our hardest to make them laugh, have joy in their heart and a smile on their face."
Tickets to Dailey and Vincent’s concert are $26, $24 for students and seniors, and $13 for age 16 and younger, and are available by calling (626) 963-9411 or online at www.haughpac.com.
