Heat Wave to Last Through Weekend
The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures to peak in the triple digits this week.

Be prepared to crank up your air conditioner or head to the coast: temperatures in Glendora are expected to peak at 99 degrees today and continue to reach the high 90s through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The excessive heat is due to a combination of high pressure over the desert and barely any wind.
There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday after 11 a.m. in Glendora, with temperatures peaking at triple digits at 101 degrees Friday.

Evening temps will offer some relief, with highs in the low 70s. And if you can’t stand the heat this weekend, you may want to head down to Santa Monica pier. The Saturday and Sunday highs will be a comfortable 74 and 72 degrees, respectively.
The NWS reminds people that leaving children, pets and the elderly in cars during excessive heat is extremely dangerous, as interior car temperatures can rise very quickly.
