Many people ask how many visits will be needed while they are gone. Well, that depends on you and your pet.
Have in mind how many times per day you would like your pet sitter to visit with your animals. Consider your pet's daily routine, feeding schedule, potty needs and activity level.
An 18 month old golden retriever, with a spunky, loving and active personality, and her Boston terrier sister are regulars of The Crazy Dog Ladies! Often times, the sweet and wise Boston gives me a knowing look about her energetic sis that says, "here we go!" Their parents are dedicated and loving owners focusing on training and consistency for the golden puppy. At their early summer vacation, I saw such a marked change in the pups manners. Her people have been doing such a good job with her and the pup has been working hard. Her people were considering whether to do 2 or 3 visits per day as she has earned free reign of the house during their absences. We decided on twice daily and to adjust if needed.
We all know our pets know when we are going away. They learn what it means when the suitcases come out and things are packed into car. Their question always being "do we get go too?" Well, the golden retriever, too, knew that her people were leaving her; unsure of their return, she decided to make her own fun out this "vacation." The attached photo shows just how much fun she actually had! Needless to say, our cute golden client appreciated 3 visits per day with no other incidents.
Again, keep in mind your pet's routine and personality, in addition to cost and other visitors to the home while you are away (housekeeper, gardener) when deciding... "how many visits?"
