Look! Up in the Sky! It's a Bird ... It's a Plane ... No, It's Supermoon!

Earth's satellite 15,000 miles closer to our planet than at any other time this year.

Star gazers looked intently at this year's harvest moon as it slinked across a relatively clear night in Southern California. The moon appeared about 14 percent larger than usual, thanks to its position in its eliptical orbit.
