The Mayor’s Trophy has come back to Charter Oak for the first time since 2012! The much anticipated annual football game between Charter Oak and Glendora took place on September 25th and it is one that both teams and fans look forward to in this neighboring rivalry.
Jaylee Cortes, Managing Editor of theboltlive.com says, “You know it is a Friday night home football game when the roar of the Charter Oak High School stadium can be heard from miles away.” Oaksquad themed the night “Black Out” with many of them wearing black in this not-so-close game against the Tartans.
The competition was taking place not only the field but also in the stands with Oaksquad competing against Glendora’s “Dog Pound.”
The victory culminated with the presentation of the Mayor’s Trophy at the Glendora City Council Meeting on October 27th. Superintendent Hendricks was there to support Coach Lou Farrar and Coach Dominic Farrar as Glendora Mayor Karen Davis presented the team with the trophy.
Quarterback Kamden Brown and team mates Zion Echols, Joshua Padilla, Dareon Nash, Damien Washington and Brian Casteel Jr. were also there to accept the trophy.
