City News Services reports that the U.S. Attorney's Office will not file charges today against a trio of campers who ignited a 1,709-acre blaze in the San Gabriel Mountains, Thursday.
A deputy district attorney visited the Glendora Police Department in the hours after the men were arrested, Jan. 16, to determine if state or federal charges would be filed against the suspects since the fire ignited on federal land, said Tim Staab, Glendora Police chief.
Spokesman Thom Mrozek of the U.S. Attorney's Office could not be immediately reached for comment.
