Police Blotter: Drugs, Thefts and a Ransack Burglary
Local police activity for the week of March 19 to March 25.
The following was provided by The Glendora Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.
Monday, March 19. Sgt. Matt Williams and Lt. Joe Ward on duty.
1:43 a.m. - An officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Route 66 and arrested the driver on several warrants. The driver was eventually released for a court appearance.
5:13 a.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of North Lorraine Avenue and arrested the subject on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance. The subject was cited and released.
7:20 a.m. - Authorities investigated a grand theft auto report in the 800 block of East Route 66. The incident is now being handled as a civil matter concerning an embezzled vehicle. The owner of the vehicle in question loaned it to someone in January. The second individual took the vehicle out of state and reportedly has no intention of returning it, Ward said.
8:47 a.m. - Police investigated a vandalism report in the 100 block of North Wildwood Avenue.
4:44 p.m. - Officers investigated a theft report at , 1600 East Foothill Blvd. A gift card and iPod were allegedly stolen from a locker.

8:27 p.m. - Authorities arrested Brennan Clapper, 24, at 600 South Scott Place. Police initiated a traffic stop when the car Clapper was in was seen driving in a suspicious fashion, making unusual turns. During a vehicle search, officers allegedly found in Clapper's possession, tools normally used for graffiti, Ward said. Clapper was cited and released.
10:28 p.m. - Officers were called to Walmart, 1950 East Auto Centre Drive on a theft in progress call. A woman allegedly took two packages of diapers from the store. As officers arrived, the woman got in her car and attempted to leave, but officers in their patrol cars drove up to the woman and detained her. Arrested was Valerie Del Valle, 48, on suspicion of burglary, petty theft with a prior conviction and possessing drug paraphernalia. Del Valle was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.

8:23 a.m. - Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Vermont Avenue and arrested the driver on suspicion driving without a license, driving while talking on a cell phone and failure to produce a license or ID to officers. The subject was cited and released.
11:27 a.m. - Authorities conducted a traffic stop on East Leadora at Lorraine avenues and arrested the 22-year-old suspect on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance. The suspect was cited and released.
4:35 p.m. - Police responded to Walmart, 1950 East Auto Centre Drive on a fraud in progress call. The male suspect allegedly tried to get a refund for an item he did not purchase. Once he exited the store, officers arrested 30-year-old Jorge Correa, on suspicion of burglary and on a warrant. Correa was held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
Wednesday, March 21. Lt. Jamie Caldwell and Sgt. Matt Egan on duty.
12:33 a.m. - An officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 900 bock of East Route 66 and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol limit. The subject was cited and released.
6:42 a.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop on Amelia Avenue at the 210 Freeway and arrested the driver on suspicion of running a red light, driving without a license and failure to produce a license for officers. The subject was cited and released.
2:15 p.m. - Officers were called to , 655 South Grand Avenue, on a theft in progress call. Store officials reported three women in their 20s and 30s ran from the store once an alarm was triggered, police said. The women drove off in an older model Mustang. After reviewing surveillance footage, police were unable to establish exactly what was stolen from the store or if a crime was committed, Caldwell said.
2:23 p.m. - Police investigated a burglary report in the 400 block South Lone Hill Avenue. The resident arrived home to find the place was ransacked, police said. The owner discovered entrance was made through a bathroom window and officers are still trying to determine exactly what may have been stolen.
8:45 p.m. - Police arrested Ian Salazar, 23, in the 200 block of West Foothill Blvd. Salazar was arrested on suspicion of grand theft in excess of $400 and was eventually released for a court appearance.
10:10 p.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop on South Grand Avenue at Arrow Highway and arrested the driver on a previous warrant. The driver was cited and released.
Thursday, March 22. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Lt. James DeMond on duty.
9:55 a.m. - Authorities conducted a traffic stop on South Colorado at Santa Fe avenues and arrested the subject on a warrant. The subject was cited and released.
2:41 p.m. - Police conducted a traffic stop on South Barranca at Haltern avenues and arrested the driver on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia. The subject was cited and released.
9:55 p.m. - Glendora Police responded to the 1300 block of South Bonnie Cove Avenue. A caller reported a vehicle was stopped in the northbound lanes of the street, inside the car a man appeared passed out, his face pressed against the glass. Officers determined the man had been drinking, secured the car and performed field sobriety tests. Officers arrested Brandon Weinzirl, 21, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol limit. Weinzirl was cited and released.
Friday, March 23. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Sgt. Mike Randazzo on duty.
3:35 a.m. - Officers conducted a traffic stop on South Grand at Mauna Loa avenues and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI, exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level and driving on a suspended license. The subject was cited and released.
10:26 a.m. - Authorities conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of East Route 66 and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving without a license, failure to provide proof of insurance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics. The driver was released on $10,000 bond.
1:26 p.m. - A citizen entered the lobby of the Glendora Police Department and informed officers of a young man sitting in a car in the front lot of the police station. The young man appeared to be under the influence of drugs, police said. Officers arrested Andrew Armendariz, 22, on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Armendariz was cited and released.
4:42 p.m. - Police were called to Walmart. Store employees reported they had a theft suspect detained in their offices. Police arrived and arrested Tommy Sanchez, 28, on suspicion of theft and burglary. Sanchez was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
7:13 p.m. - Officers pulled over two people on a bicycle in the 100 block of West Route 66 and arrested 31-year-old Jerrod Ferren on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ferren was cited and released. Ferren was the man arrested after being accused of at a police helicopter, Jan. 4.
Saturday, March 24. Lt. Rob Lamborghini and Sgt. Mike Randazzo on duty.
12:50 a.m. - An officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of West Route 66 and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI. The driver was cited and released.
3:24 a.m. - Police were called to the 200 block of East Route 66 on a noise disturbance. Officers arrested Alfred Rivera, 28, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. Rivera was cited and released.
3:29 a.m. - Officers conducted a pedestrian check in the 1900 block of East Auto Centre Drive and arrested the subject on a warrant involving drug possession, possessing drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject was held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
12:53 p.m. - Authorities investigated a theft report in the 600 block of West Baseline Road.
3:31 p.m. - Police conducted a pedestrian check on South Grand Avenue near Arrow Highway and arrested the subject on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject was cited and released.
8:10 p.m. - Police responded to a vandalism in progress call in the 100 block of South Amelia Avenue and arrested William Bodzsar, 20, on suspicion of vandalism causing property damage. Bodzsar was cited and released. Bodzsar was the suspect arrested Aug. 13, 2010 after police connected him to from at least 11 cars on East Walnut Avenue.
Sunday, March 25. Lt. James DeMond on duty.
12:55 a.m. - An officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of East Route 66 and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. The driver was cited and released.
2:40 a.m. - An officer on patrol located a suspicious occupied vehicle in the 600 block of South Scott Place. Officers arrested the occupant on suspicion of carrying a switchblade knife. The subject was cited and released.
5:57 a.m. - Officers were called to assist paramedics on South Bonnie Cove at Dover Street. Officers arrived and arrested Victoria Araya, 30, on suspicion of DUI and exceeding the maximum blood-alcohol level. Araya was cited and released.
6:23 a.m. - Police pulled over a bicyclist in the 800 block of West Route 66 and arrested Daniel Trejo, 24, on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance. Trejo was held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
2:05 p.m. - Officers investigated a theft report in the 300 block of West Route 66.
