AZUSA, CA - Police were searching Friday for a 12-year-old boy who ran away from his mother near a park in Azusa.
Esteban Chavez was last seen about 7:30 p.m. Thursday around Slauson Park at 501. E. Fifth St., according to Azusa police.
Esteban is Hispanic, 5 feet 5, about 100 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing beige shorts and a black jacket, according to police.

Esteban ran away from his mother once before, according to police.
Anyone with information about the child's whereabouts was asked to call Azusa police at (626) 812-3200 or 911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
