Pregnant Woman Attacked During Morning Walk

Incident seemed to be random, deputies said.

A pregnant woman was attacked while on a morning walk in nearby Charter Oak, deputies said.

The woman received unspecified injuries and was taken to a local hospital where she was examined, deputies said.

The attack occurred Sunday around 8:25 a.m. near Cienega and Valley Center avenues. The woman was approached by a man, who pushed her up against a wall and proceeded to punch and kick her.

"When she screamed that she was pregnant, he ran off westbound on Cienega," said Sergeant David Buckner of the San Dimas Sheriff's Station.

Deputies are unsure why the attack happened, stating the two reportedly do not know each other and that the woman was reportedly minding her own business.

Authorities are working on a police sketch to help the public identify the suspect.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a shaved head, about 25 years old. He wore all dark clothing.
