Small Brush Fire in Glendora Closes Freeway Overnight

A small brush fire in the Glendora area temporarily closed the 210 Freeway between Lone Hill and Sunflower.

GLENDORA, CA — You may notice some blackened hillside off the 210 Freeway westbound this morning in the Glendora area.

Overnight, Los Angeles County Firefighters went to work last night when a brushfire was reported just after 9:30 p.m. The north side of the 210 freeway between Sunflower and Lone Hill was engulfed in flames as fire raced uphill according to the Glendora Police Department.

"LA County Fire quickly stopped the fire," they reported. Fire fighters finished their work a few hours later when the fire was reported out around 11:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

No damage or injuries were reported. No homes were threatened and the fire department conducted mop-up work overnight.

The west bound 210 freeway from the 57 was temporarily closed due to firefighter presence on the freeway. Traffic remains heavy through that area.

There is no word as to the cause of the fire, and it remains under investigation.
