Tough Loss For St. Lucy’s Water Polo
The Regents let an early lead slip away to Arroyo Grande in the CIF semifinal match.

St. Lucy’s Priory suffered a heartbreaking loss Wednesday when its water polo team lost the CIF-Southern Section Division III semifinal match against Arroyo Grande at the Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine.
Second-seeded St. Lucy’s saw an early 4-0 lead slip away as third-seeded Arroyo Grande took the lead in the fourth quarter. Arroyo Grande sealed the victory with a goal with 1:30 remaining, winning 7-6.
The loss was a heartbreaker for the Regents who last year advanced to the CIF finals before losing to Murrieta Valley.
