"We want to educate and inform the community and address specific questions and concerns they have," Snideman said of the meeting.

According to Snideman, the meeting will address a number of topics including information about gangs, signs to look for, and when and how residents can help provide information to law enforcement.  The topic of graffiti will also be addressed.

"We all want to ensure that in hindsight this was an isolated incident," Snideman said.

"There will also be a lot of time to answer people’s questions," she added.

The implementation of a graffiti control program will take place over the next few months, Snideman said.

The Sheriff's Gang Intelligence Unit, Gang Task Force, Investigations Bureau and Coastside Patrol Bureau continue to be involved in the investigation of the incident, which is ongoing, said Lt. Ray Lunny of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Lunny said that one arrest has been made of a juvenile who made threats against a community member.

"Any additional arrests will be announced when they are made," he added.

Because of the open investigation, the specifics on what these authorities are doing are not publicized, Lunny said.

Lt. Lisa Williams was not available for comment at the time of publication.
