Experience at the polls today: I dropped off my ballot and had to check to see if I made an error on the ballot that would cause it not to count -- it turned out to be ok. For the last few years I have been doing an absentee ballot and dropping it off in person -- I don't know if I trust the mail system.
Why she voted: I feel strongly that if you have a right to a secret ballot you should use it. If you don't vote, you shouldn't complain. I think it's part of being an American and it's a responsibility, just like voting and paying taxes.

Experience voting in this election: I think it's important to vote locally on issues because this is where your vote has the most effect.
How she voted for Measure K, the proposed 1% city sales tax increase: I voted yes on K because hopefully the city made it so that these extra funds would go to fire and police and to things that are underfunded now. I believe that it wasn't put on the ballot because of the Beachwood lawsuit. It was put on the ballot because in these economic times, we -- the city -- needs it.
