Holiday Wishes from Mayor Kowalczyk

A letter from Half Moon Bay Mayor Rick Kowalczyk to the local community.

Dear Coastside Residents,

I want to wish you and your families a warm, safe, and very happy holiday season.

As 2012 draws to a close,Β IΒ am reminded of the gifts and blessings we enjoy in our community, among them the generosity of those who commit so very much of their time to help make Half Moon Bay such a wonderful place to live and enjoy. IΒ think we can all pause for a moment and quickly think of a short list of individuals who's names and faces we see at the core of community events, fund raisers, and programs for youth and seniors. It's this group thatΒ IΒ am particularly thankful for. They are the 'DNA' that helps make Half Moon Bay so unique and wonderful.

Of course, our neighborhoods, businesses, and sense of community draw us close together. Β Whether it's socializing with a few atΒ theΒ Farmer's Market or celebrating with thousands at the Night ofΒ Lights, we know there is something special about this place and about our relationships with one another. Our community is so much more than the sum of its parts. Β

It is among my greatest honors to represent you as Mayor of Half Moon Bay. IΒ hope to lead the charge onΒ initiatives to help our community to continue to improve in positive ways, andΒ IΒ remain enthusiastic and open to your input and opinions along the way. There is so very much that we can do together, andΒ IΒ can only imagine how terrific our community will be as a result of our combined efforts. Β

On behalf of myself and my colleagues on the City Council, I wish you the happiest of holidays and a prosperous new year.
