2,500 Gifts Collected By Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma Co.

From BGC: Each year, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County partners with the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County and many community partners to collect and wrap several thousand gifts for the kids and families we serve. After last year’s fires, there was an outpouring of support from our

Starting in October, our staff members write letters and wishes on behalf of the kids and families most in need who attend our more than 30 Clubs from Cloverdale to the Golden Gate. These staff members know their Club members and families well and cherish the chance to make the holidays special for some of our neediest families. We work closely with partners such as Medtronic, Allianz, Dillwood Burkle & Millar, Gap Inc., Thrive Church, Copperfield’s Books and many others who “adopt” these families in need and provide holiday gifts that would otherwise unaffordable. This year our staff wrote 126 letters and advocated for well over 1,000 children’s holiday wishes. In all, we were able to collect over 2500 gifts for our kids and families and disbursed over $15,000 in gift cards for items like shoes, groceries and other essentials.

We would like to thank all of those who supported this effort by volunteering to wrap gifts this holiday season. Representatives from Lululemon, Soroptimist International Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa and Napa Jr. Leagues, Primerica and many other individuals including Board and Council members from Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County helped make gifts beautifully festive and fit for special delivery. We truly could not have made this happen without the love and support of so many exceptional community partners!
