Smoke could be seen from north Santa Rosa.

However, Cal Fire reported that the fire was slow to spread.

The fire burned about an acre by 2:15 p.m., but firefighters from the Santa Rosa Fire Department and Cal Fire had stopped the burn's forward progress by then.

No structures burned and no evacuations ordered, according to the Santa Rosa Fire Department.

Crews were expected to remain in the area for several hours working on fully containing the fire and putting out hot spots.
