HEALDSBURG, CA — Officials and business leaders will open the books on the local economy next week, inviting residents into a discussion about the forces shaping the city’s future.
Spotlight on the Healdsburg Economy will bring together government officials, business leaders and residents for a public forum led by an economist and professor at Sonoma State University.
Robert Eyler will outline current economic conditions in Healdsburg, examine pressures in the wine industry and housing affordability, and explain how local governments can track and respond to shifting trends.

Later in the month, the city’s senior services arm will tackle a different kind of planning.
The Healdsburg Senior Center will host an April 27 open house introducing “When the Time Comes,” a new program focused on end-of-life planning, grief support and practical decision-making. The drop-in event runs from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the center at 133 Matheson St.
Program organizers say they designed the effort to create a space where residents can talk openly about death and dying, access workshops and one-on-one guidance, and connect with others navigating similar questions.
Local end-of-life care professionals will attend the open house, and staff will share a schedule of ongoing discussions and support sessions. Organizers say the goal is straightforward: give residents tools and support before they need them — and when they do. Info: whenthetimecomes.org.
