SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Deputies tracked a stolen-tool report across Sonoma County, chased a white Ford F-150 through Santa Rosa streets, and ended a pursuit after the truck veered off Highway 12 and dropped into a creek bed between Highway 12 and Occidental Road.
The chase began with the report of a suspected tool theft at the Home Depot in Windsor on Monday involving a white Ford F-150.
A deputy who located a vehicle matching the description exiting Highway 12 onto Dutton Avenue tried to stop the truck.
The driver refused to stop and sped away westbound on Highway 12, triggering a chase. During the pursuit, the truck swerved off the roadway and plunged into a creek bed, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies identified the driver as Kalial Abbushi, 45, of San Leandro. Authorities found four people inside the truck, who authorities suspect in multiple retail thefts across the Bay Area. Three people were arrested.
Abbushi is suspected of felony organized retail theft and felony evading a peace officer, according to the sheriff's office. Authorities also confirmed he was on Post Release Community Supervision and held an outstanding felony evasion warrant from another county. Deputies booked him without bail.
Aubrey Brambley, 20, is suspected of organized retail theft, misdemeanor petty theft, and misdemeanor receiving known stolen property. She received a citation to appear in court.
Jason Lopez-Willis, 27, of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of violating a domestic violence restraining order and contempt of court for failing to comply with prior court orders. His bail was set at $45,000, and he remains in custody.
Authorities released the fourth occupant at the scene after questioning.
