HEALDSBURG, CA — An unusual encounter near Memorial Bridge ended with an arrest Friday after a teen darted into traffic, was nearly hit, then allegedly used a black marker to write on a Healdsburg police patrol car.

When asked why he ran into the roadway, the teen took out a Sharpie, uncapped it, and began writing on the patrol vehicle, police said.

The officer arrested him on suspicion of vandalism. When asked why, the teen replied, “It shouldn’t be hard to remove."

Police identified the suspect as Alexis Jimenez Martinez, 18, of Healdsburg. They said Saturday was his 10th arrest in the past year. He was on felony pretrial supervision and misdemeanor probation, police said.
