Teen Detained After Russian Riverfront Gunfire (patch.com) — Neighbors in Healdsburg are being urged to share any information after a fight near Badger Park along the Russian River escalated into gunfire Wednesday evening. Deputies detained a 17-year-old carrying a loaded firearm, though investigators say he is not believed to be the shooter, and no gunshot victims have been reported so far.

Report from the City Council, May 18 (healdsburgtribune.com) — Healdsburg’s latest City Council meeting recognized long-serving city staff and firefighters, expanded electric vehicle rebates for low-income Healdsburg electric customers, and reviewed needed upgrades to aging police and fire buildings. Leaders discussed a $17.4 million modernization plan and highlighted a local utility foreman’s Pride in Public Service Award.

As Sebastopol wrestles with a sizable budget deficit and recent service cuts, residents are questioning whether now is the right time for raises and how higher compensation might affect long-term costs.
