HEALDSBURG, CA — A Healdsburg restaurant has claimed a space on one of North America's top culinary lists.
SingleThread ranked No. 16 on the 2026 North America's 50 Best Restaurants list and captured the title of Best Restaurant in West USA 2026, placing Sonoma County's celebrated dining destination among the continent's elite culinary experiences.
The annual ranking, published by The World's 50 Best Restaurants organization, evaluates restaurants across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.
SingleThread is one of only 10 West Coast restaurants to make the list. Among them, four are in San Francisco, four in Los Angeles, and one in San Diego, each featuring a new entry on this year's list.
SingleThread's recognition marks the restaurant's second appearance on the regional ranking.
Husband-and-wife team Kyle Connaughton and Katina Connaughton built SingleThread around a distinctive partnership. Kyle leads the kitchen as chef, while Katina oversees the farm that supplies much of the restaurant's produce.
Their Japanese-influenced cuisine combines kaiseki-style tasting menus with ingredients harvested from the property's farm operation. The restaurant and its five-room luxury inn embrace a Japanese hospitality philosophy centered on anticipating guests' needs before they arise.
The approach has attracted international attention and helped establish SingleThread as one of California's most acclaimed dining destinations.
The recognition extends beyond the regional ranking. SingleThread also landed at No. 80 on the extended World's 50 Best Restaurants list, joining fellow American restaurants Le Bernardin at No. 90, Atelier Crenn at No. 96, and New York's César at No. 98.
New York's Atomix, ranked No. 12, remains the only U.S. restaurant currently positioned within the global Top 50.
The World's 50 Best Restaurants organization will announce its 2026 global rankings in November.
