The shooting of the teen and three other people -- ages 11, 20 and 25, who survived -- occurred about 7:15 p.m. in a parking lot at Schaefer Stadium, which the continuation school shares with Fairfield High School.

On social media, Mary Jones, who identified herself as the teen's great-aunt, said Baker was protecting his 11-year-old sister when he was shot.

She posted a photo of Baker in cap and gown with his father, Roderick.

"The investigation remains active, and there are currently no suspects in custody," police said in a statement.

A special email, juneincidenttips@fairfield.ca.gov, has been set up to receive tips and video related to the shooting.

Police are asking for cell phone photographs or video recordings, dash camera footage, residential or business surveillance video, doorbell camera recordings and any details related to the shooting.

"Even if you're unsure whether the information you have is significant, please share it," the department said Friday on social media. "Details that may seem minor could be the key to solving this case."

Sem Yeto High School is a non-traditional school "where students can improve their academic and social-emotional skills in an alternative setting," according to the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District.

It has two campuses: the main site on the campus of Fairfield High, and a satellite campus at Armijo High School. About 300 students attend the school, which was founded in 1980.
