HEALDSBURG, CA — More than half a dozen police descended on a two-story apartment building in Healdsburg early this morning in a search.

A woman with a small child and four men handcuffed stood outside for more than an hour while officers from the Santa Rosa Police Department attempted to serve a warrant on someone suspected of being inside the residence on March Avenue.

Police have not released details about the search that began about 6 a.m. when police arrived at the building.

An early report online mistakenly identified the officers as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

However, at least one officer was masked and several heavily armed and waring bullet-proof vests. One wore an ATF insignia and another appeared to be from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Shortly before 8 a.m. several officers carried out four bagged items.

They also searched a white work truck parked in front of the apartment building.

Police released the handcuffed men at 8 a.m. and the group were allowed to go back into the building.

This is an ongoing report that will be updated.
