HEALDSBURG, CA — Little Saint will host a performance by Bay Area indie surf-rock band Sandy's on Saturday, July 25, marking the group's return to the Healdsburg venue after their show three years ago.
Sandy's grew out of The Botticellis, a well-known Bay Area indie rock band led by singer, songwriter, and composer Alexi Glickman.
After The Botticellis disbanded, Glickman launched Sandy's as a recording project before it evolved into a live duo and trio featuring a rotating lineup of Bay Area musicians.
The band's 2016 self-released EP, Prom, established its mix of shimmering guitar tones, melodic songwriting, and surf-inspired textures. Its most recent EP, Sound of the Bay, expands that approach with improvisation and jazz-influenced arrangements.
Surf rock first emerged in Southern California during the early 1960s, popularized by artists including Dick Dale and The Chantays.
The style became known for its reverberating electric guitar sound, inspired by ocean waves and beach culture. Contemporary bands such as Sandy's often blend those classic surf guitar elements with indie rock, dream pop, psychedelic music, and jazz harmonies, creating a more atmospheric sound than traditional instrumental surf music.
The performance happens alongside Little Saint's regular food and beverage service directed by Chef Deborah Mullin.
The concert is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, at Little Saint, 25 North St., Healdsburg. Admission is free, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Organizers recommend RSVPing in advance, but reservations are not required. Tickets are available here.
