HEALDSBURG, CA — A hotel poised to become the most expensive in Healdsburg, if not Sonoma County, is now accepting reservations months before opening.
The Selvedge marks the latest expansion of the SingleThread hospitality brand, which has grown from a celebrated restaurant into a broader collection of luxury lodging and agricultural experiences in Healdsburg.
Located less than a mile from SingleThread's Michelin three-star restaurant, the property will guarantee restaurant reservations for overnight guests while offering an English-inspired hospitality experience shaped by chefs Kyle and Katina Connaughton's years living abroad.
The opening adds another chapter to the SingleThread brand, which began with the restaurant in 2016 and now includes the original five-room inn above the restaurant, as well as a 24-acre farm that supplies much of its produce.
The Selvedge is scheduled to open in late 2026 and has begun accepting reservations for stays beginning in November, although no specific opening date is on record.
At $2,100 a night for its smallest guest room, The Selvedge appears to set a new benchmark for standard hotel room rates in Healdsburg, although larger villas and specialty accommodations at Montage Healdsburg can cost considerably more.
SingleThread Restaurant and Inn, opened by Kyle and Katina Connaughton in 2016, has become one of California's highest-profile dining destinations, earning three Michelin stars.
Elle Decor named it one of "The Most Anticipated 2026 Hotel Openings Around the World," while Condé Nast Traveler, Vogue, Hospitality Design, and other travel publications have spotlighted the 10-room Healdsburg inn among the year's most anticipated luxury hotel debuts.
The five guest rooms above the restaurant also received Michelin Keys, the hospitality guide's highest recognition for hotels.
But, even before opening, the new hotel is a magnet for superlatives.
Elle Decor named The Selvedge one of "The Most Anticipated 2026 Hotel Openings Around the World," placing the forthcoming Healdsburg inn alongside luxury destinations in the Maldives, Milan, and other international travel hotspots, as the property begins accepting reservations with entry-level rooms for two starting at $2,100 per night.
The price guarantees a dinner reservation at Michelin three-star SingleThread included with overnight stays.
The 10-room luxury inn will occupy the former River Belle Inn at 68 Front St., a landmark property overlooking the Russian River.
Originally built in 1895 as the home of California wine pioneer Isabelle Simi Haigh, the mansion later operated as a luxury bed-and-breakfast before becoming the newest expansion of the SingleThread hospitality brand.
Reservations are currently available up to 12 weeks in advance beginning in November. Every stay includes a multi-course breakfast for two prepared by the culinary team, high-speed Wi-Fi, artisan in-room amenities, and guaranteed seating at SingleThread's Michelin three-star restaurant.
Breakfast menus include Sonoma and Japanese-style options inspired by Kyle Connaughton's culinary career, while guests may also reserve in-room dining before arrival.
When the expansion was announced in October 2025, company materials identified Greenberg and Vertice as leading the project alongside SingleThread management. The announcements did not mention founders Kyle and Katina Connaughton by name, despite the restaurant continuing to bear their brand and culinary reputation.
Greenberg has described The Selvedge as an extension of SingleThread's mission to create deeper relationships with guests, the community, employees, and agricultural and culinary partners through a highly personalized hospitality experience.
Not everyone in Healdsburg shares that vision.
When the opening was announced in 2025, a group of about 60 residents wrote to Vertice expressing concern that the project prioritizes luxury tourism over community needs, arguing the expansion creates "luxury visitor dining at the expense of local residents."
Those concerns have added another chapter to an ongoing debate over how far luxury hospitality should expand in Healdsburg, where high-end hotels and restaurants have transformed the downtown into an internationally recognized destination, while fueling worries among some residents about affordability, neighborhood character, and the balance between tourism and local life.
