Man Found Dead In Icy Waters Identified

A rescue swimmer brought a man found in a Sonoma County waterway ashore after authorities received a call about a possible rescue.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Authorities have identified the man found dead last week in the water near a Highway 1 coastal overlook.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office identified the man as William Strawn, 64, of Santa Rosa, according to reports.

Strawn was found Aug. 20 near Duncan's Landing in Bodega.

A fire district rescue swimmer brought Strawn to shore.

Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
