1. 3 Teens Arrested After Shelter-In-Place Gun Scare At NorCal Schools (patch.com) — Healdsburg families faced a tense afternoon Friday as a possible gun threat triggered lockdowns and shelter-in-place orders at Healdsburg High School and the Fitch Mountain Campus. Police, assisted by Sonoma County sheriff's deputies, searched both sites and later reported three teens in custody, with no injuries to students or staff. Authorities say more details will be released as the investigation continues.
2. SMART Proposes Change To Healdsburg Station Location (patch.com) — Healdsburg residents will see the long-running SMART station debate resurface as rail officials brief the City Council on construction progress and float a new downtown Vine Street location. While no vote is scheduled, the presentation could influence whether the city sticks with the previously chosen Hudson Street depot or reconsiders a more central station site.
3. Police Log, Aug. 31 – Sept. 6 (healdsburgtribune.com) — Healdsburg's latest police log details a busy Aug. 31–Sept. 6, including DUI and probation arrests, thefts, traffic collisions around the roundabout and Vine Street, and a major jewelry theft solved with an arrest in Citrus Heights. Residents also reported speeding near schools, disputes at local motels and hotels, and minor property crimes, offering a clear snapshot of current safety concerns.
4. 'Matters more today than ever': How Sonoma County nonprofit Los Cien is launching a new generation of diverse civic leaders (pressdemocrat.com) — Sonoma County's Los Cien BRIDGE program is training Latino and other leaders to serve on local boards and commissions, with graduates already stepping into key civic roles. The effort has strong Healdsburg ties, from a Corazón Healdsburg board member shaped by the program to local vintners Barbara Grasseschi and Tony Crabb helping fund its long-term expansion and scholarships.
