2020-21 New Student Enrollment Now Open In Hermosa Beach

Enrollment is now open for new students joining the Hermosa Beach City School District for the 2020-21 academic year. The process has been adapted for online registration in order to comply with social distancing and the ongoing closure of the district's campuses and offices related to COVID-19 mitigation efforts. The process begins by visiting the HBCSD registration page, which lays out the steps and includes a rundown of documents needed to complete the process.

Students qualify for our Transitional Kindergarten program (TK) if they turn five (5) years old between September 2 and December 2, 2020. The TK program is a half-day PM schedule (see below).

Students must turn five (5) years old by September 1, 2020 to be eligible for the Kindergarten program, which is a half day program offered in an AM or PM schedule....

To have an AM/PM request considered, the child's online application including all supporting documents must be submitted no later than 3:30 p.m. on April 17, 2020. AM/PM placement will be determined based on the number of spots open and students enrolled. If necessary a lottery will be held for placement. Parents will be notified by mail for AM/PM Kindergarten placement for the Fall of 2020.
