7 Places to Celebrate St. Paddy's Day

Everybody’s Irish and all bars are crowded on St. Patrick’s Day, which is coming up Thursday. Where will you celebrate? Here are lucky seven options:

1. Hennessey’s Tavern: The Pier Plaza venue opens at 7 a.m. on St. Patrick's Day and promises the biggest party in town, all day. Beer, ale, wine and cocktails, good food, crowds, but no green beer. “That’s for rookies,” according to management.
2. Sharkeez: Sharkeez on Pier Avenue is celebrating too, and its does have green beer… and green margaritas and Irish Car Bombs, a green beer pong tournament, and other contests with cash and prizes. The venue opens at 11 a.m. and advises you to wear green—you’ll get in faster.
3. Patrick Molloys: Patrick Molloys on Pier Avenue opens at 8 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day with a happy hour until noon. Throughout the day the restaurant will serve Irish stew, corned beef and cabbage, and corned beef and Reuben sandwiches, along with pints and pints of the good stuff.
4. Paciugo Gelato: This popular gelato eatery on Hermosa Avenue will combine beer and the sweet Italian treat on St. Patrick’s Day. will offer three new Irish-Italian-inspired flavors—Beer Chill, Guinness Irish Stout and Chocolate Guinness.
5. Saint Rocke: The PCH music house, , will showcase Irish tunes on St. Patrick’s Day with a U2 tribute show at 8 p.m.
6. Kilkenny’s: Kilkenny’s, on the Redondo Beach Pier, is celebrating its fifth St. Patrick’s Day with green beer, tons o' uncolored beer, corned beef and other traditional dishes. Plus, a DJ on duty will spin tunes all day and bagpipers will march through the restaurant each hour.
7. Naja’s Place: Next door in Redondo, Naja’s Place on the International Boardwalk will open at its regular time—2 p.m. Loyal customers know 88 beers are available, but on St. Paddy’s Day you can expect to find a goodly selection of Irish specialties beyond the usual Guinness and Snakebite.

Choose wisely, leprechauns. Once the party gets going all of these places will be mobbed.
