Abigaile's 'Little Sister' to Open in Manhattan Beach

The duo behind Abigaile in Hermosa Beach and WildCraft Sourdough Pizza in Culver City will open a new 50-seat restaurant in Manhattan Beach, where Hampton's used to be.

Chef Tin Vuong and restaurateur Jed Sanford expect to open what they're calling the "little sister" of Abigaile in spring or early summer at 1131 Manhattan Ave., across the street from MB Post and Fishing With Dynamite.

Vuong and Sanford intend to create a "relaxed and welcoming chef-driven social environment featuring dishes that will exercise your palate.," according to a press release.

Termed a "passion project" for Vuong, the menu will feature his take on "interesting and rich collisions of food and culture" originating from the European colonization of Southeast Asia. Items will blend and balance French techniques, Dutch and British colonial influences and the spices and flavors of Southeast Asia, according to the release.

Vuong intends to evolve the menu "continually and progressively" with it reflecting the seasons and his inspiration.

Abigaile's "little sister" will offer a craft beer selection that includes special batches from The Brewery at Abigaile, brewed just for the restaurant. The new eatery will also focus on intriguing labels, both domestically and from around the world, with Vuong acting as curator Vuong for its wine and beverage selection.
