An Evening of Dance by Hazel Clarke and Kairos Dance Company

Rocky Mountain Choreography Festival winner of 2013, Hazel
Clarke, will present “A Question That Sometimes Drives Me Hazy-Am I Or Are The Others Crazy?” November 14, 2013, 8:00pm  at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse, 710 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach, 90254
The full-length production will explore the complexities and aspects of mental illness in the early 1960s and its effect on society back then, as well as today. As the audience takes a tour through the fictional facility of Sunnyville Asylum, they meet the patients and experience  the archaic methods of psychiatric treatment used at that time, allowing them to gain a better understanding of how the treatment of  mental illness has developed throughout the years.

Kairos Dance Company was formed in 2006 by Los Angeles choreographer Hazel Clarke. Hazel’s choreography has been Showcased throughout LA, in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Palm Desert and Denver, CO. Hazel is the winner of the Rocky Mountain Choreography Festival presented in February of 2013.
