Changes Substance Prevention Program

Freedom4U a nonprofit youth organization hosts the Changes Substance Abuse Prevention Program

From October 20th- December 15th at 5:30pm- 7pm, Freedom4U a nonprofit youth organization hosts the Changes Substance Abuse Prevention Program. This program is designed to help parents and teens move towards healthier living and away from substance abuse. The program will be held at Hermosa Valley School every Tuesday.

Dr.Greg Allen the director of Freedom4U says, “ We hope to change lives by supporting parents and making families healthier. We want to prevent substance use, we want to catch kids before it progresses into a serious problem. Many kids do not qualify for an intensive program but could benefit by this prevention care”.

The Changes Substance Abuse Prevention Program uses evidenced-based material, peer mentors, healthy activities and service learning to guide teens and parents towards healthy coping skills. Allen says, “I do not know of a prevention program like this in the South Bay. Personally, I have been involved in several substance-abuse programs. All programs involve drug discussion as a main focus. The unique thing about the Changes Program is we will also involve kids in our healthy social activities and our service-learning projects”. Please pre- register by Sept 30th
