Deceased Man Found on Beach

A fully-clothed deceased elderly man was recovered on the beach near 6th Street in Hermosa Beach around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Detective Mick Gaglia of the Hermosa Beach Police Department told Patch that officials believe the 80-year-old man drowned, but have yet to determine whether or not it was accidental or otherwise.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy. The man’s name has not been released pending notification of his family, Gaglia said.
