Discounts for Older Hermosans
Being 65 years old isn't old, but it does get some local senior citizens some deals.

Today’s families sometimes include our parents and grandparents under one roof.
With the current economy and skyrocketing gas prices, we need to watch our budgets more than ever and senior citizens are no exception.
As I looked around for some good deals this week, the task proved to be more difficult than I thought.

Some stores that once offered weekly discount days for seniors no longer offer set days—but I’ve compiled a list of where in the South Bay senior citizens can still enjoy discounts.
- Where: Roundtable Pizza, 2701 PCH, Hermosa Beach, 310-379-9277. When: Older patrons get 15 percent off everyday.
- Where: Petco, 537 N. PCH, Redondo Beach, 310-374-7969. When: Sunday and Monday, senior citizens can buy their dogs a bath for $25.99 (normally $36 to $54 depending on the size of the dog.)
- Where: Children’s Orchard, 3701 N. Sepulveda, Manhattan Beach, 310-546-8823. When: Grandparents discount is 20 percent off every Tuesday.
- Where: EDCO Disposal, Rancho Palos Verdes, 310-540-2977. When: Senior citizens enjoy 10 percent discount off their waste bill (you must fill out the form on their website for your senior discount.)
- Where: Ross Dress For Less, 19800 Hawthorne Blvd. Suite 150, Torrance, 310-370-3508 When: There’s a 10 percent off discount every Tuesday.
Senior discounts are for people who are 65 years or older. Please bring a valid ID to the business, and discounts are subject to change at anytime, so please call ahead.
