El Camino College Opera Workshop Performance
Performance scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. December 11 in the Campus Theater.
The show is designed to spotlight the work of outstanding vocal students, who auditioned to be in the class.
Founded in 2004 by music professor Hedley Nosworthy, the Opera Workshop is intended to teach aspiring opera singers the skills necessary to move, act, and sing at the same time while performing on stage. Students learn to master the ability to sing complex operatic works that sometimes are in Italian, French, or German.
The Opera Workshop performance will feature works from Leoncavallo, Mascagni, Händel, Howland Dickstein, Offenbach, Mozart, Sondheim, Bernst.

Tickets to the Opera Workshop performance are $10 and may be purchased at www.centerforthearts.org, by phone at 310-329-5345 or toll-free at 800-832-ARTS. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Campus parking is $3. The Campus Theatre is located at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance.
