El Camino College's "Student One-Act Plays"

Annual production of "Student One-Act Plays" features a full evening of exciting and diversified student-directed plays

El Camino College will present an evening of “Student One-Act Plays” at 8 p.m. October 10-11 in the Campus Theatre.

The annual production of “Student One-Act Plays” features a full evening of exciting and diversified student-directed plays. Students, actors, directors, and playwrights who have participated in previous “Student One-Act Plays” have been recognized for outstanding achievement by judges from the American College Theatre Festival (ACTF). Ron Scarlata, theater professor, is the faculty adviser for the production.

One-act plays include: “Flowers for Algernon” by David Rogers, based on the book by Daniel Keyes and directed by Maya Hardison; “Controlling Interest” by Wayne Rawley, directed by Jenny Magnani; “Wanda’s Visit” by Christopher Durang, directed by Daniel Fernandez; and the “El Camino Improv Troupe,” directed by Steven Mendez.

Tickets for the performance are $10 each and may be purchased online at centerforthearts.org, by phone at 310-329-5345 or toll-free at 800-832-ARTS. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Campus parking is $3. The El Camino College Marsee Auditorium is located at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance.
