'Hermosa Beach Blues": Dave Widow and the Lineup In Concert Tonite at the Lighthouse

(Hermosa Beach) - The Chicago blues and soul-inspired music of acclaimed singer-songwriter-guitarist Dave Widow and his band The Lineup will revel South Bay beachgoers today at the Lighthouse Cafe, 30 Pier Ave., from 4-8 p.m. Great muisc - and no cover! Performing in Widow's band The Lineup are highly-regarded musicians James Gadson (drums); Reggie McBride (bass); and Marty Grebb (keyboards/saxophone).

Widow is just back from Memphis, where his recently-released album "Waiting For The World  To End" was touted by the prestigious Blues Foundation as a Top Five Finalist in the category of "Best Self-Produced CD."  The record has received sparkling reviews and both national (and) international radio airplay. Other recent accolades:  2012 "Hot 100 Artist of the Year" selection by noted trade publication, Music Connection; and "Musical Group of the Year" nominee by the 2012 Los Angeles Music Awards.     Dave's busy performing schedule include a recent performance at this year's NAMM Conference. He will lend his teaching talents at this year's "Down To The Crossroads Blues Guitar And Bass Camp" in Clarksdale, Mississippi from May 28 through June 1, and is set to perform at both the 8th Annual Ventura County Blues Festival (as part of Michael John and the Bottom Line's band) on April 27; and as a headliner at the 16th Annual Irvine Lake Blues Festival on August 24.
