No New Power Plant Rally

NOW is the time to show our opposition to another 50 years of re-industrialization on our waterfront. 2012 will be the defining year for the future of AES Redondo, and the South Bay's support or opposition to their plans to rebuild a new power plant here will be the determining factor. AES will file their application with the California Energy Commission to license a new power plant in Redondo and will also be bidding for a long-term contract with the California Public Utilities Commission and Southern California Edison to provide power to California. All in 2012!

We really need your support! Please join us at the rally under the King Harbor Sign on the corner of PCH and Herondo/190th to oppose plans for a new polluting power plant in Redondo Beach. A new power plant is incompatible with our densely populated waterfront, marring the surrounding community and exposing us to a substantial increase in pollution. This plant is also unnecessary according to the agency that maintains the reliability of the electrical grid in California.

We'll have signs available at the rally, so you don't have to bring anything. There is also plenty of free parking on Herondo/190th. Please tell your friends and also ask them to sign the No New Power Plant petition at www.nopowerplant.com
