Lysander loves Hermia, and Hermia loves Lysander. Helena loves Demetrius; Demetrius used to love Helena but now loves Hermia. Hermia's father would prefer she marry Demetrius, so she and Lysander flee into the forest where all is not right on this midsummer's night.
