On February 11, South Bay Branch of the U.S. Green Building Council Los Angeles Chapter (USGBC-LA), in partnership with Leadership Hermosa Beach, are demonstrating their commitment to energy conservation by offering tours and live energy assessments on a Hermosa Beach home, the Green Idea House, as one of the steps to receiving an Energy Upgrade retrofit. Energy Efficiency professionals will demonstrate the tools they use to identify where the home is leaking energy and the innovative ways the house plans to save energy (and money)!
The Fortunato family’s Green Idea House is a case study house created in partnership with many local green businesses. It is the Fortunato’s hope that their house will educate the surrounding community about the possibilities and advantages of building green with energy efficiency and sustainability front and center. Home tours will be led by Robert Fortunato, President of ForStrategy Consulting, and his home performance contractor, Wes Harding of Harding Construction & Sustainable Solutions (Harding Construction).
Tours will be held at noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm on Saturday, February 11th.
