Fighting for the California Comeback

Legislative Wrap-up

2013-2014 was a tremendous, successful legislative session for the South Bay, and all of California. With your help, my colleagues and I accomplished a lot these past two years and Governor Brown approved my bipartisan legislative package.

Many bills are introduced each year and only a handful make it to the Governor’s desk for approval. I am proud that fourteen of my bills that address common sense priorities like a balanced budget, jobs, education, safe neighborhoods, and a healthy environment were signed by our Governor.

I worked across party lines these past two years, met with constituents, and learned a lot about different issues impacting our communities. Thanks to your feedback and concerns, I authored legislation to help aerospace manufacturers and small businesses grow and create jobs, as well as laws to protect our children from bad teachers in the classroom, protect our privacy on the internet, and protect our beautiful California coast.

I continue to welcome your phone calls, office visits, and emails on state issues as we gear up for the next legislative session. The 2013-2014 legislative session is going to be a hard one to top, but with your help we will continue to build on the California Comeback and keep the future of our state golden.
